Architecture

Architecture covers multiple areas: Enterprise, Technical, Functional, Solution, and Business. Business Architecture is covered in the Business Architecture and Analysis Service section.

Enterprise Architect

Enterprise Architect

Refers to the organization as a whole. An EA (Enterprise Architect) is responsible for the entire organization landscape; they are a business and technical based function relating to the structures and behaviours of a business primarily focused where data is involved.

Technical Architect

Technical Architect

A TA (Technical Architect) is generally responsible for the management and planning of a technology project; acting as a bridge between the SA (Solution Architect), the BA (Business Analyst / Business Architect), and PM (Program / Project Manager). The TA role often encompasses the Functional Architect role too.

Functional Architect

Functional Architect

An FA (Functional Architect) is predominantly focused on identifying particular system functions and their interactions with other sources / functions. The FA helps to identify potential conflicts in advance and would work closely with the Solution and Technical Architects to determine solutions where possible whilst concurrently aligning with the BA and PM.

Solution Architect

Solution Architect

The role of an SA is very challenging, essentially as the title suggests, their role is to understand the requirements, technology, functional and technical landscape and potential conflicts, the business use case, and then design / devise a solution that meets / exceeds these needs. Typically there will be documented assumptions, dependencies, and risks accompanying a potential solution; the proposed solutions are presented to the Client, Client EA and PM for review prior to approval. The SA will remain on hand to provide direction to the team(s) as needed.
