A scrum Master’s main task is to ensure roadblocks are identified, communicated and those that can resolve it are joined to avoid adverse impact. Their secondary task is to function as a Business Analyst in order to keep the project on track, work is completed ontime and to specification, teams are coordinated, and all facets of the planned, in progress, completed, blocked works are clearly communicated to applicable groups.
Business Analysis is geared towards people, requirements and project / program including ongoing related activities. The Business Architect and Business Analyst can often be one in the same person however, for larger or complex programs / projects these roles may be provided separately.
